PSIA-AASI FreeStyle Specialist/Children’s Specialist Level I Scholarship

Women of Winter and PSIA-AASI believe that sustained and enduring change requires continued investment. To further this, we’re providing 12 scholarships open to past Women of Winter x PSIA-AASI Level I recipients for a FreeStyle Level I or Children's Specialist Level I Scholarship to further our mission to create pathways for our members to become leaders in Snowsports or the Outdoors Industry.
FS Level 1
The FS 1 course is for instructors embarking on the journey toward mastery of the art of freestyle coaching/instruction. (Read more here)
Evaluation Criteria:
Must complete the Freestyle Track E-learning Module for your primary discipline (Skiing or Snowboarding) a minimum of 48 hours prior to attending the FS 1 on-snow clinic.
Must be an active participant in the on-snow event.
Must receive a passing score from freestyle divisional education staff based on the participant’s demonstrated knowledge, understanding, teaching, movement analysis, and on-snow performance.
Evaluations of those taking the FS 1 course reflect the participants’ knowledge of safety in the freestyle environment, teaching freestyle, and their possession of the requisite skills necessary to demonstrate freestyle maneuvers to their guests. Successful completion of the course grants professional recognition to the coach/instructor and industry for their education, experience, and expertise in freestyle. This is a multi-disciplinary course.

Must complete the Children’s Specialist module - online CS 1 course a minimum of 48 hours prior to attending the CS 1 on-snow clinic.
Must be an active participant in the on-snow event.
Must receive a passing score from children’s divisional education staff based on the participant’s demonstrated knowledge, understanding, teaching, and movement analysis and on-snow performance.
Evaluations of those taking the CS 1 course reflect the participants’ knowledge of teaching children and individuals. Successful completion of the course grants professional recognition to the coach/instructor and industry for their education, experience, and expertise in teaching children snowsports. This is a multi-disciplinary course.
PSIA-AASI Freestyle Specialist Level I certification exam (2 days)
OR
PSIA-AASI Children’s Specialist Level I certification exam (2 days)
Lift tickets for all days of the Level I exam
Location: Big Sky Resort, Big Sky, Montana
Dates: March 8 - 9, 2025
Application Deadline: November 15th, 2024
Applicants will be notified in early December.
APPLICANTS MUST:
Be a past Women of Winter x PSIA-AASI Level I recipient who received their Level I Alpine or Snowboard certification through the Women of Winter x PSIA-AASI scholarship program.
Please note. If you apply for and/or receive a scholarship this season (2024-245) and are not awarded a scholarship or you are awarded and are not able to participate in the program, you’ll need to reapply for the same scholarship for next season (2025-26).
